Having Trouble Getting Pregnant?

Are you having trouble getting pregnant? Have you been trying for some time now? Are you starting to question whether or not you can? Even when there are no pre-existing factors interfering with conception, it can seem like you are having trouble getting pregnant as studies show the odds of conceiving are as follows:
* 25% within the first month
* 60% within 6 months
* 75% within 9 months
* 80% witin 1 year
* 90% within 18 mnths
However, when there is an issue, and you are truly having trouble getting pregnant, there could be several factors affecting either your or your partner’s fertility.
1. Smoking. If you or your partner smoke and you are having trouble getting pregnant, consider these statistics. Women who smoke are 60% more likely than non-smokers to be infertile. Egg depletion and sperm damage caused by smoking is a large contributor to infertility.
2. Poor Diet. Another contributor to having trouble getting pregnant can be improper nutrition. The foods you consume or even don’t consume are crucial to your reproductive health. Ensure adequate intake of whole grains, green leafy vegetables, a variety of fresh fruits and colorful vegetables, and raw nuts (allergies should be considered here however). Brazil nuts actually promote sperm health.
3. Caffeine. Although controversial, caffeine is believed to contribute to having trouble getting pregnant. It also is believed to be risky during pregnancy with an increased risk of miscarriage with more than very mild use. Caffeine is present in chocolate, coffee, tea, and most sodas. If at all possible, total avoidance can make a difference if you are having trouble getting pregnant. If you have an addiction and this will be too stressful, then a gradual weaning is more preferable.
4. Alcohol Use. Alcohol in moderation may not be responsible if you are having trouble getting pregnant, but over-consumption by either partner may. Complete avoidance however is the best option if you wish to increase your chances of getting pregnant sooner. And of course this is very important during pregnancy.
5. Stress. If you are having trouble getting pregnant, take a look at your work and home environment and consider the level of stress these put on your shoulders. Stress has a direct effect on fertility not to mention your overall health. Finding useful ways to relieve stress is a must if you are having trouble getting pregnant. Consider changing jobs if at all possible, going for leisurely walks, talking a soothing bath during difficult times, or even meditation. One program I highly recommend for those who (like most of us) are not masters of meditation is the Holosync Program from Centerpointe Research.
These are only a few of the issues that can be affecting your fertility of you are having trouble getting pregnant.
